About Josephine

My Story

Josephine Manton is a member of the General Osteopathic Council after being awarded a Diploma in Osteopathy (D.O.). She has over thirty years of experience. She is also a member of the Institute of Osteopathy.

After qualifying Josephine worked in a practice in Essex and started at the Osteopathic Centre for Children initially as a volunteer and then as a tutor. This was an invaluable opportunity in gaining experience treating a wide range of children and conditions in the both the clinic setting in Harley Street and hospital environments. She was awarded the Diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy in 1999 (D.P.O.)

In 2002 Josephine moved to Devon with her family. Here she works in practices based in Paignton and Newton Abbot.

In the Paignton practice she worked alongside a non-extraction orthopaedic orthodontist assessing and then treating children and adults with teeth and jaw malalignment. This added to her understanding of temporomandibular pain.

More recently Josephine was invited back to teach on the postgraduate paediatric course at the Osteopathic Centre for Children in London. This was to cover for a colleague for 9 month and she really enjoyed working in the clinic environment and teaching.

Now in daily practice Josephine treats a wide range of patients, that include, the elderly, babies, children and pregnant mothers.

Jo is also now in her final year of a Masters with the Open University "An introduction to Mental Health Science"
